One of accused in Damian Moosomin homicide sentenced for manslaughter

One of the individuals facing charges in the Damian Moosomin homicide investigation was sentenced to 15 years in prison for manslaughter on Friday.

Tye Partridge, 24, of Moosomin First Nation, is in custody and pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he appeared in North Battleford provincial court. A charge of first-degree murder in the case was withdrawn.

Judge Michelle Baldwin ordered a publication ban on the details of the proceedings until all the other co-accused individuals have gone through the court process.

She sentenced Partridge to 15 years in custody for the charge of manslaughter. The offender also received a lifetime weapons prohibition and must submit a DNA sample.

Less time served, Partridge has about 13 years and three months left in custody. The judge also ordered him to serve at least half of his sentence before he will be considered for parole.

RCMP previously reported Damian Moosomin, 20, was found deceased in the backyard of a property in the 1500 block of 105th Street in North Battleford on May 16, 2020. He was originally reported missing to police on May 11 of that year.
