RCMP Report: Impaired driving, assault arrests
A woman from the Battlefords is facing multiple charges, after driving intoxicated with a small child in the vehicle.
Battlefords RCMP were alerted to an erratic driver on 102nd Street on Saturday morning when they were reportedly swerving all over the street and nearly rear-ended another vehicle. Police located the accused shortly after 10:30 a.m., along with an adult passenger and a small child that wasn’t secured in their seat. The 27-year-old female driver was arrested on scene, becoming combative with the officer.
As a result, she is charged with impaired driving, driving while over the legal limit for alcohol, assaulting a police officer, as well as several offences under the traffic safety act.
“If you have someone under 16 in your vehicle who is not properly strapped in, the driver is responsible,” Sgt. Neil Tremblay said.
