Eleven guilty pleas in Sask. sex assault case

Apr 14, 2022 | 12:17 PM

A man who told his victims he was a traditional healer or medicine man has entered guilty pleas to 11 charges of sexual assault.

Cecil Wolfe, 60, appeared Wednesday at Saskatoon Provincial Court. A sentencing date was scheduled for Oct. 26.

Wolfe was initially charged by last September. At the time, investigators expressed concern there may be other victims and asked anyone with information to contact police.

As a result of further victims coming forward since then, the Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) collaborated with the SPS Sex Crimes Unit.

The crimes are said to have occurred over the past 20 years in the communities of Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatoon and surrounding areas.
