RCMP Report Pt. 1: One teen hospitalized, another arrested following assault
A 16-year-old youth from North Battleford faces multiple assault charges after an incident on Tuesday evening left another teen seriously injured.
Police responded to a disturbance shortly after 9:00 p.m. that evening on the 1200 block of 108th St. When officers arrived at the scene, where 10-15 people were reportedly involved, they found a 17-year-old youth unconscious outside the residence, with serious head and facial injuries, and a second male with an edged weapon injury to his arm, which was treated. Sgt. Neil Tremblay said the 17-year-old was transported to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon but is expected to make a full recovery.
“I believe he was expected to be released from the hospital [very soon],” he said.
Three people, an adult woman, an adult man and one youth, were all arrested on the scene that evening. Tremblay said the accused youth remains in custody and appeared in court Thursday, but no other decisions have been made on anyone else being charged, with further investigation required.
