Battlefords RCMP investigating armed carjack

A robbery with a firearm Thursday evening is under investigation in North Battleford.

Police received a report alleging the incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Panton Ave., where the victim was sitting in a parked car and was approached by four suspects with their faces covered. One suspect produced a firearm and the group then demanded the victim exit the vehicle. After the demand was met, the four fled the area. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Battlefords RCMP are urging the public to be on the lookout for a black 2006 Mazda 6, with a Saskatchewan License of 600-MKT. Initially, the suspects reportedly pulled up to the victim in a silver hatchback vehicle, of which the make and model is known.

Anyone with information on this incident can call the Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
