Homicide investigation underway after man found deceased on Red Pheasant

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit are investigating a suspected homicide after a man was found deceased on Red Pheasant First Nation early Sunday morning.

Battlefords RCMP report they were dispatched to a firearms complaint on the First Nation at about 3 a.m.

Officers located a deceased male on a roadway, identified as a 21-year-old man from Red Pheasant First Nation. His family has since been notified.

Following an investigation, police determined there was a verbal altercation at a home. RCMP report the victim was leaving the residence when he was fatally injured.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating. There will continue to be an increased police presence in the community.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact their local RCMP detachment at 310-RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
