Turtleford RCMP continue investigating possible arson, attempted thefts

Feb 28, 2022 | 12:55 PM

RCMP in the Turtleford area are asking the public for assistance in two investigations, most recently multiple attempted thefts.

Occupants driving a van tried to steal a dirt bike from a residence in the RM of Parksdale on Sunday morning. Later that day, they attempted to steal a snow machine from the Turtle Lake South Bay area.

The van is light blue or grey coloured and has a Saskatchewan License of 270-LHV. Anyone who sees it should not approach and instead call 911 immediately.

Arson investigation ongoing

Police are still investigating a possible arson on the west end of Brightsand Lake, where two pieces of logging equipment were set on fire.

(Sask Crime Stoppers)

The processor and wheel buncher were severely damaged, to an estimated cost of around $200,000. According to police, the fire that these pieces of equipment would have caused in the area would’ve been extensive.

Anyone with any information on this incident is urged to come forward and contact the Turtleford detachment.

Any other information regarding these incidents can also be relayed to 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
