North Stars fall 6-2 in Humboldt
Coming off back to back wins to open the new year, the Battlefords North Stars suffered their first loss of 2022 Saturday night, as the team fell 6-1 to the Broncos in Humboldt.
Keiton Klein and Tynan Ewart scored for the Stars in the loss, while Ulrik Roussel made 14 saves on 18 shots-against in his return to the lineup, before being replaced by Lowen Kenyon who stopped 16 of 18.
For Humboldt, Alex Morozoff and Rhett Gibson picked up a pair of goals each to lead their team to victory, while Cody Hough and Lucas Ceccarelli also added a goal each and Rayce Ramsay stopped 25 of 27 shots.
Trading a goal each within the first two minutes of action, Morozoff’s first of the night opened the scoring just 1:09 into the contest, before Klein answered back with a tally of his own, to knot the score 1-1 just 30 seconds later.
