Accused in Broncos bus crash back in court today

The case for the semi driver charged in the Humboldt Broncos bus collision returns to court in Melfort today.

Jaskirat Sidhu, 29, faces 16 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and 13 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily injury in relation to the bus crash April 6 involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team.

The Broncos were en route to Nipawin for a playoff game against the Hawks when the bus and semi collided at the intersection of Highways 35 and 335, commonly known as Armley corner.

Satnam Aujla, Sidhu’s lawyer, appeared on his client’s behalf over the phone at his last appearance Oct. 23.
