City reminds people third-party COVID-19 restrictions may take precedence

Nov 26, 2021 | 6:00 AM

The City of North Battleford wants to remind people that the city’s new amended COVID-19 policy for those entering certain city-owned facilities does not override similar requirements approved by the boards of renters of third party leased properties, such as the Dekker Centre and Northland Power Curling Centre.

People are asked to refer to the individual websites or contact the organizations directly for more details.

The city approved some amendments at council’s meeting Nov. 22 to the city’s new restrictions that require proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result within the previous 72 hours for a number of city facilities, for individuals 19 years of age and older, starting Nov. 30. The city approved exemptions to the policy for city owned and operated facilities for anyone 18 years of age and under. Exemptions are also in place for all healthcare related rentals and all religious worship services.

The city noted the policy is based on recommendations from the provincial government.

As well, the policy will be reviewed monthly at city council meetings.

The city noted that the Allen Sapp Gallery – Gonor Collection, the Chapel Gallery and the NationsWEST Field House are currently subject to provincial regulations. People are asked to visit the province’s website for details on proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result requirements for these facilities in particular.

Further details from the city are available here.
