North Stars fly into Hawks territory tonight
After nearly a week off, the Battlefords North Stars hit the ice once again tonight, taking on the defending-champion, Hawks in Nipawin.
The North Stars are 3-2 over their last five games, and will enter Friday’s contest with a 1-0-1 record against the Hawks in the season-series to date.
Nipawin, meanwhile, enters action 2-3 over their last five contests, boasting the leagues stingiest defense, averaging just over two goals against per-game through their first 25 games.
Both the North Stars and Hawks feature top three on the penalty kill, clicking along at 86.1 and 86 per cent efficiency respectively, so special teams’ scoring in tonight’s matchup will likely be at a premium as well.
