RCMP Report: Altercation under investigation, two arrested
A confrontation between two groups in North Battleford resulted in one person left unconscious and two others arrested.
Battlefords RCMP responded to a report of a physical altercation at a business on the Highway 16 bypass just before midnight on October 28, where they found the 40 year-old male victim and had him treated by medical personnel. Two other male victims were reported to have been assaulted by the second group of men that fled. Two suspects were arrested shortly after being identified.
Charges are still pending at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Sgt. Neil Tremblay said there are several elements to determine regarding this incident between two groups of three males.
“When you’re dealing with an altercation between two groups of people, there’s lots of things to gather, such as witness statements, video evidence, that type of thing,” he said. “These were two groups of individuals that would not have known each other prior to that night and we don’t know the reasons why it went sideways at this time.”
