Warrant issued for man charged with second degree murder

Saskatchewan RCMP are actively trying to locate a male wanted for second degree murder following the death of a man in North Battleford.

Police were alerted to a shooting on the 1200 block of 108th Street at 1:45 a.m. this morning, where 33-year-old male Boyd Firingstoney was declared deceased at the scene. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit South is investigating and has issued a warrant for the arrest of Javon Moosomin.

The 21-year-old male is charged with second degree murder, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and five counts of pointing a firearm. He is 5-11, 180 lb and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Moosomin is considered armed and dangerous and residents are urged not to approach him. If he is seen, call 911. Any information on his whereabouts can also be submitted to the local RCMP detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
