Battlefords Chamber CEO recognized for leadership, commitment at ABEX Awards

The CEO of the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce has been recognized for her long-standing history of committing time, leadership and guidance to the Chamber network in Saskatchewan.

Linda Machniak received the 2018 Roger Phillips Chamber Builder Award this weekend at the ABEX Awards in Saskatoon.

The award is named in honour of Roger Phillips, who originated the ABEX Awards 35 years ago.

Machniak started with the Battlefords chamber as an executive director in 2001. In 2012, she was honoured as Executive of the Year for a population base of less than 100,000 at the annual Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada gala.

“Linda is a forward-thinking leader in the community. Her work for the Battleford Chamber and for the entire Chamber network in our province is remarkable,” Steve McLellan, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce said in a media release.

The release said Machniak was recognized, in part, for her leadership in the Battlefords Chamber, which has an involved membership base and is one of the strongest business communities in the province.
