Teenager released from hospital after gunshot incident

Police are also investigating an incident from Thursday in North Battleford, which involved gunfire.

The call came around 10:45 p.m. that evening, alleging there was a loud argument followed by gunshots on the 900 block of 110th Street. Officers were able to determine that local residence was involved, with a window bearing several gunshot holes. Later, RCMP received a call from the hospital that a 14 year-old male had shown up with a gunshot wound to his chest. Members attended and determined that the teenager was involved in the incident. He was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.

Further investigation revealed that the event wasn’t random, as both parties knew each other. According to the RCMP, neighbouring occupants were arguing, which escalated into a fight and then gunshots. As a result, RCMP have arrested a 38 year-old female and a 20 year-old male believed to be involved.

The investigation is ongoing, with help from the Municipal GIS and Gang Task Force Units.

Anyone with information on either of these incidents can call the detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
