Battlefords RCMP seize several kilograms of cocaine

The Battlefords Gang Task Force seized a significant amount of cocaine in North Battleford over the weekend.

An investigation that was assisted by the Saskatchewan Crime Reduction Team, stemming from a vehicle stop and search on Aug. 13, resulted in five kilograms of cocaine being located and seized. This comes to approximately 50,000 doses of cocaine, with a street value in Canada of more than $400,000.

In a press release, Staff Sgt. Jason Teniuk said it’s extremely important to the city and surrounding communities that these drugs are taken off of the streets and out of people’s hands.

“Consider 50,000 doses of drugs entering a community of around 14,000 people,” he said. “It’s a reminder of how significant the impact of one drug seizure can be on a community.”
