RCMP Report: RCMP search for teens ongoing

Jun 30, 2021 | 3:24 PM

Update: Aliya Natomagan has been found. Skyler Tinker is still missing.

The search for two North Battleford teens that dates back to late May continues.

Battlefords RCMP are still trying to locate missing 13 year olds Skyler Tinker and Aliyah Natomagan. Sgt. Neil Tremblay said they still don’t have much to go on.

“Based on some activity through social media, it appears likely they’re in Saskatoon,” “But we haven’t been able to confirm a location and locate either of them at this point.”

Saskatoon police continue to assist in the search.

Multiple break and enter cases

Among the detachment’s 565 files from the past week, there were 16 break and enter investigations. This includes five cases in the Cochin area where cottages were broken into, all occurring between June 23–25. Tremblay said they are investigating whether these are all related, as 48 hours is a tight time frame.

“While we can’t confirm they’re related, there’s a chance they are,” he said.

Battlefords RCMP are also investigating an incident on June 25. Two males entered a home on the 1400 block of 109th Street in North Battleford that afternoon and reportedly attempted to steal a TV before being scared away by an occupant of the residence. The suspects are described as male, wearing black ski masks and red hats.

The previous day, police arrested a 34-year-old man from Leoville, Sask. for breaking and entering after he reportedly entered an apartment through the balcony that afternoon. Charges have not been sworn in as of the time of publication.

Armed robbery suspect arrested

Among other files in this week’s report, Battlefords RCMP had nine reported vehicle thefts, three Health/COVID violation investigations, 17 Mental Health Act investigations and two charges relating to impaired driving. Further details are expected regarding the arrest of a male suspect, who reportedly stole a vehicle and performed an armed robbery at two businesses in Poundmaker Cree Nation Tuesday evening. Tremblay said the arrest occurred outside of their detachment area, near Shellbrook.

Anyone with any information on any of these or other incidents can call the Battlefords RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
