Jun 30, 2021 | 12:20 PM

A man facing a charge in the death of Cindy MacKay will be setting dates for a preliminary inquiry in the case.

Michael MacKay, 38, is charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife Cindy MacKay, 38, of the Meota area last year.

The accused who was previously released on bail had his attendance waived at North Battleford provincial court Wednesday.

Crown prosecutor Oryn Holm estimated about two weeks would be needed for the preliminary inquiry.

MacKay’s case was adjourned to Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. to schedule the dates.

According to the RCMP, Cindy MacKay was in medical distress on Feb. 7, 2020, and transported to hospital. She later died in hospital on Feb. 12, 2020.

The allegation against the accused has not been proven in court.
