One of accused in Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation has case adjourned

One of the accused individuals facing a charge related to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation had his case adjourned in North Battleford Provincial Court again.

Samuel Takakenew, 36, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

He appeared in court Friday via phone.

Takakenew was previously granted bail following a hearing in December 2020.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. to be spoken to.

Laverdiere, 25, was reported missing on May 12, 2019. She was last seen in North Battleford May 1, 2019. Her remains were found in a rural area outside North Battleford July 11, 2019, and confirmed to be the Edmonton woman on July 16 of that year.

The allegations against the accused have not been proven in court.
