AAA Stars ink six from Battlefords/Meadow Lake for fall 2021

Apr 19, 2021 | 5:25 PM

The Battlefords AAA Stars have announced a number of new player signings for the 2021-22 season, including six from the Battlefords and Meadow Lake communities.

Stars’ head coach, Dale Grayston said they are excited about having so many from the local area make the jump to the U18 AAA ranks this fall.

“We want to have a really strong connection to the area of the Battlefords and places within an hour or hour and a half of us, as I think it really generates good excitement in the community,” Grayston said. “We want to focus on local area players to show our farm program and we’re pretty excited about each of the young guys who have committed to us.”

Coen Grosjean

North Battleford’s Coen Grosjean is a homegrown product, who grew up in the Battlefords Minor Hockey system and will graduate from the local U18 AA program. Prior to the season-stoppage this winter, the 5’11 stay-at-home defender looked to be only adding to his offensive repertoire with six points in four games with the North West Stars U18 AA team.
