Husband charged for Cindy MacKay murder
After a year-long investigation, the husband of Cindy MacKay has been charged for her murder.
On February 7, 2020, Cindy MacKay of Meota, Sask., was transported to the hospital and died there five days later. Prior her death, healthcare professionals raised concerns to the detachment, which prompted an investigation.
This was conducted by several RCMP units, including the Battlefords RCMP General Investigation Section and RCMP Forensic Identification Section. As a result, Michael MacKay was arrested earlier today in Warman, without incident.
He is charged with one count of first degree murder. His first court appearance is set for Friday, March 19, in North Battleford Provincial Court via telephone.
