Town announces new finance manager, community planner

The Town of Battleford announced at Monday’s council meeting it succeeded in filling two vacant positions.

CAO Ash Alam indicated in his report Mohammad M. Rahman has been hired as the new finance manager.

Rahman is a North Battleford resident and was previously employed as the finance representative at the Battlefords Indian and Métis Friendship Centre.

He has a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Rahman will start with the Town of Battleford March 22.

According to the report, the finance manager will oversee the chief administrative officer’s (CAO) position whenever the CAO is absent.

Alam also announced Paige Reynolds has been hired as the town’s new community planner.

Reynolds is a Battleford resident and was working at the Fort Battleford National Historic Site of Canada before joining the town.

She is currently completing her education through the University of Lethbridge, Alta.

Reynolds started with the town March 15.

For the impact on the town’s budget, the report to council indicated the finance manager will receive $60,000 to start as a salaried Out of Scope position, while the community planner will receive $39,000 to start, also as a salaried Out of Scope position.
