North Battleford to have fireworks on New Year’s Eve
The City of North Battleford hopes to end 2020 with a literal bang.
On New Year’s Eve, the city will set off fireworks from King Hill as part of the festivities for the community and the nation. The fireworks were originally set to be used for Canada Day celebrations, but the event was cancelled. Communications Manager Dustin MacDonald said all residents are invited to participate.
“We just want to celebrate, send off 2020 and usher in 2021 in a safe manner,” he said.
Residents can view the fireworks from a variety of places throughout the city, if they so choose. However, because of the province’s recent restrictions on gatherings and social distancing, MacDonald said anyone leaving their residence must adhere to the mandate and avoid larger groups, close contact with those outside their bubble and more.
