RCMP investigation continues into rural area assault

Dec 8, 2020 | 3:22 PM

A 55-year-old man was attacked outside his home at a rural address near the city of North Battleford last month, resulting in serious injuries.

Battlefords RCMP Staff Sargent, Jason Teniuk said the local detachment responded to a call around 11:30 p.m., Nov. 7, for a man assaulted with an ‘edged weapon.’

The attack occurred after a couple of unknown men approached the man’s home and requested his assistance to help them get their vehicle unstuck. Shortly after leaving his residence in an attempt to help these people, the victim was attacked.

The man was treated in hospital, and while he did suffer some severe injuries from the attack, police say he was released from hospital that night.
