Two accused in Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation have cases adjourned

Two accused facing charges connected to the Tiki Laverdiere homicide investigation had their cases adjourned in North Battleford provincial court Friday.

Samuel Takakenew, 36, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

A bail supervision report is to be prepared for Takakenew, who is seeking to be released on bail.

He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford court again on Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. to be spoken to.

Another accused, Charles St. Savard, scheduled for an appearance in court Friday, had his case adjourned.

St. Savard, 33, from Edmonton is facing charges of first degree murder and kidnapping in the case.

The accused, who remains in custody, is scheduled to return to North Battleford court again on Jan. 11, 2021.

Laverdiere, 25, was reported missing on May 12, 2019. She was last seen in North Battleford May 1, 2019. Her remains were found in a rural area outside North Battleford on July 11, 2019 and confirmed to be the Edmonton woman July 16, 2019.
