North Stars season ticket deadlines fast approaching

As the fall calendar now sits just a stone-throw from October, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) proposed start date is fast approaching.

The league remains hopeful for an Oct. 9 start, and as a result, time is ticking for North Stars fans to purchase their season passes for the 2020-21 season.

The passes are sold in three stages.

· Stage 1: Monday (Sept 28) until 3 p.m.: The deadline for returning season pass holders looking to renew this year.

· Stage 2: Oct. 1 to 6: The chance to purchase season passes will then be open to billets and volunteers only.

· Stage 3: Oct. 9: Coinciding with the target date for the commencement of the fall season, the general public will be given the opportunity to purchase season tickets as well.

Marketing Manager with the North Stars, Jennifer Whyte, said while the season may have a bit of a unique feel to it this year, the team is happy to see the anticipation that remains throughout the community, surrounding the Stars’ return.

“It’s not going to be a typical North Stars season. Things are going to be very different, but people are also used to a different world now,” she said. “Everyone, from what I can tell, are just very excited at the thought of North Stars hockey coming back which is great to see.”

Whyte added following an extended summer filled with much uncertainty, the overwhelming support they have received already, through the early season pass sales, has been a great sight.

“Right now it’s really nice that people are supporting us without actually knowing the for sure start date, it’s a really good sign,” she said. “Right now we have just shy of 150 seats sold and there’s still [a number of messages] coming in.”

Due to provincial guidelines, there will be a capacity limit on the number of fans allowed at SJHL games this season.
