As September passes its midway mark, the spooky season sits just around the corner.

As such, North Battleford residents, Naomi MacAloney and Donald Meriam, have teamed up with She-NANIGANS, to host a Halloween Charity Costume Party, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m.

Designed as a night out for ages 19+, the event will take place at the She-NANIGANS performance venue, with half of all proceeds to be donated to the local Battlefords Pride organization.

Meriam, a member of pride in the community, said the idea for the costume party came about as a way to add a little more Halloween flare to the month of October. Especially amidst a tough year with the ongoing pandemic.

MacAloney added the pair have always enjoyed the Halloween season, and look forward to hosting the event, which will allow others from the community to come together for a special evening out.

“We both love Halloween, and we know a lot of other people do too, so we figured it would be a really good time to raise money and have fun at the same time,” she said. “The costume aspect is what I am most looking forward to, because I know I am pretty creative and a lot of people within the Battlefords are too, so it’ll be fun, and really help out a good cause.”

Sticking with the Halloween theme, in addition to the costume aspect, there will also be Halloween-themed food available at the event, along with a number of spooky decorations throughout the establishment.

Kelly Waters with She-NANIGANS, said they are happy to host the upcoming event at their establishment, and encourage those in the community to take part in what should make for a fun night out.

“It’s a great way to get out in a safe way and have some fun, while supporting local people,” she said.

Those wishing to attend the event, are asked to call ahead of time to reserve a spot. To learn more about the night’s event or register, call or text Naomi at (639) 895-0936.
