Humboldt crash survivor Dahlgren shares message on social media after hospital release

Saskatoon native and former Battlefords AAA Star Kaleb Dahlgren, who survived the Humboldt Broncos bus crash April 6, was released from the hospital a few days ago, according to a message he shared on social media last night.

In his post, Dahlgren said he is doing physiotherapy to rehabilitate his injuries every day, and is focusing on the positives because life is too short to dwell on negatives.

Dahlgren shared a picture of what he called his favourite shirt, with the quote “Enjoy the grind,” on the back.

“If you think negative, nothing positive will happen to you and you’ll be stuck in a rut,” Dalgren wrote. “It’s all about the mindset. I have decided to focus on the positives and stay strong because I know that’s what my brothers who are looking down on me would want. I will always hold everyone that was lost in the accident close to my heart and they will never be forgotten.”

The 20-year-old played for the AAA Stars from 2013-15 before moving on to suit up for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Notre Dame Hounds and Humboldt Broncos.
