Handi-Bus shut down; Public Transit service reductions

Mar 26, 2020 | 12:18 PM

Commuters in the Battlefords may have to start looking for alternative options for transportation.

The Battlefords Handi-Bus has been temporarily shut down due to the COVID-19 virus.

In addition to this, North Battleford Public Transit said they will be implementing service reductions in an attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect their employees.

The reduced schedule will run from Monday to Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with only one bus running on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In a press release, North Battleford Public Transit said that a community effort is required to limit the exposure and spread of COVID-19. They are asking everyone to practice social distancing and remain home whenever possible.

In an effort to limit the amount of misinformation, rumors and bad information from being circulated they are directing people to the Government of Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 website.
