Pathway to Peace conference a chance for people of various faiths to share ideas
Those who want to learn more about faith groups in the community will have an opportunity to do just that at an upcoming presentation in the Battlefords.
Mansoor Azeem, an Imam/missionary at Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada, based in Lloydminster, is involved in organizing the inter-faith conference called Pathway to Peace planned for Feb. 29 at the North Battleford Library lecture theatre from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Representatives of several various religions including Sikhism and Judaism are invited to participate in the event as well as Christian denominations to share a little about their faiths, encourage dialogue and increase people’s understanding of one another. Representatives of the Indigenous community will also take part to speak about First Nations culture and education.
“[The participants] will talk about how peace and harmony can be achieved in this society,” Azeem said.
