Evelyn Crowston

We sadly announce that Evelyn Crowston (nee Fakley), passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18th, 2018, at Battlefords District Care. She was 95 years old.

Evelyn was born in Saskatoon where she met her husband Eugene just before the start of WW II. Eugene joined the air force and was transferred overseas, while Evelyn served in the military working in Ottawa. They were married when Eugene returned from the war in 1945.

Eugene rejoined the Air Force after a short period of civilian life and they began their life of being regularly transferred to different bases.  After retirement, the habit of frequent moving never left them. They continued to move every year or so, never growing roots in any one place. They were known by many as the ”happy wanderers”.

Eve has joined her husband of 70 years Eugene, who passed away in 2015. She is survived by her children Ken, Keith, Kathy and grandson Kevin. Sallows & McDonald-Wilson & Zehner Funeral Home in care of arrangements. 306-445-2418
