Nov 4, 2019 | 6:06 PM

Two people are wanted for allegedly committing fraud at a financial institution in Unity.

RCMP have issued arrest warrants for Allan Eugene Opikokew, 36, and 33-year-old Candace Kelly Gerard.

Unity RCMP said in a media release that on Oct. 4, the suspects went to a bank in the community and attempted to defraud it using forged Government of Canada cheques. Both presented fake documents to prove their identity.

The suspects were located later that day by the RCMP in Biggar and again provided false identification, which resulted in them being released for court under assumed identities.

Both are wanted for attempted fraud, obstruction of a police officer, uttering a forged document and personation with intent. Opikokew is wanted on one charge of breaching a probation order and Gerard is wanted for two counts of uttering forged identification.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
