Silvernagle hoping to improve rankings at Colonial
The Robyn Silvernagle rink will be looking to move up in the World Curling Tour (WTC) rankings this weekend as she competes at the Colonial Square Ladies Classic at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon.
The Silvernagle foursome consisting of mate Jolene Campbell of Saskatoon, second stone Dayna Demers of Meadow Lake and Kara Thevenot of Prince Albert squares off against Nancy Martin of Saskatoon at 12 p.m. today. The last time Martin and Silvernagle met was in a tie-breaker two weeks ago at the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling in Regina. Silvernagle won that game 5-4 with her final stone.
“This competition is a little different than the Pinty’s,” Silvernagle said. “There you curl one game per day until you get to the playoffs, while this weekend you curl multiple times per day so it allows you to find your groove.”
The North Battleford rink, representing the Twin Rivers Curling Club, is currently ranked 28th on the WTC tour this season, an improvement on 54th place from last season.
