Former AAA Star Gavlas signs with Regina Pats

For the second time this week, a Battlefords AAA Star has put pen to paper with a Western Hockey League club.

First, it was Adam Beckman signing a standard players agreement with the Spokane Chiefs, the team that drafted him in 2016, and now defenceman Parker Gavlas, another Saskatoon native, has signed with the Regina Pats.

The right-shot defenceman was a free-agent camp invite by the Pats, who announced the signing on Wednesday.

Gavlas was a 17-year-old rookie for the Stars last season, compiling 17 points in 43 games from the blue line. He also suited up in three games with the Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He was too old to return to midget AAA.
