Province seeks buyer for old Saskatchewan Hospital property
Nearly one year after its operations were wound down, the Ministry of Central Services’ Asset Management branch has issued a request for proposals for the old Saskatchewan Hospital property.
Alongside the main 255,532 sq. ft. building, which was completed in 1914, several cottages, garages, a paint shop, curling rink, greenhouse and powerhouse are part of the sale.
The exact amount of land for sale will not be known until the subdivision is complete. The hospital will be subdivided from the new hospital to the west as well as from Drumming Hill to the east.
The Chapel, Cenotaph and cemeteries are not included in any potential sale, according to the RFP, and will be subdivided before the sale is finalized. The ministry is covering all the costs associated with the subdivision.
