North Stars extend Marketing Manager Whyte for another two years

The Battlefords North Stars have extended Marketing Manager Jennifer Whyte for another two years, the club announced Monday.

After joining the team last September, just prior to the start of the regular season, Whyte said the decision to commit to the North Stars’ organization for another two years was easy.

“This past season has been nothing short of amazing,” Whyte said. “It’s been very much an adventure learning and developing my role within the club.”

Whyte said the adventure is one she is excited to continue as the new season approaches with still a few events ahead this summer. Still to come prior to puck drop on opening night is the North Stars’ Annual Golf Classic on Aug. 16, as well as the Stars’ Hockey School from Aug. 19 to 23.

Once the season begins, Whyte said fans can expect a few new events mixed with a number of old favorites people in the community have come to know.

The North Stars host a Thanksgiving Bash at the Alex Dillabough Centre in Battleford on Oct. 11, following the team’s game against the Flin Flon Bombers at Battleford Arena.

Still in October, the team will honor the local first responders at a game when the team returns to the Civic Centre.

From there, Whyte said fans can expect plenty of other family-friendly outings including a special Halloween-themed evening, initiatives encouraging reading among youth, and even a specially-themed game night, devoted to mental health awareness as part of the Stars Stand Strong Initiative.

Whyte said she is looking forward to the coming season, having now gained the experience of last year to build on, and is appreciative of the support she’s received over her time with the team. She said it’s the community’s willingness to jump on board and get involved that brings these events to life.

“It is definitely a juggling act but by the second half of the season I had a steady routine that came in handy during our busy playoff run,” she said. “The board and volunteers are obviously key and it’s truly not possible to run this club or game days without this amazing group of people.”
