City to offer downtown parking workshop
Pay parking, occupancy rates, and parking time limits are among topics to be discussed at downtown parking workshop this work.
The workshop will take place in the library’s lecture theatre. Parking issues to be discussed include a discussion of downtown parking requirements, demand for leased surface parking and a review of the city’s role versus the downtown landowner’s role in parking.
“We’re really hoping to hear from the downtown businesses; what they see, what they notice, [and] what works for them,” Director of Planning and Development Jennifer Niesink said. “We are looking for people to come give their input on what works for them downtown and what they would like to see.”
Niesink said public feedback is an integral part of the city’s decision making, noting the city has also held public workshops for previous projects in the community.
