Peewee AA Beavers win Saskatoon league championship
After winning an impressive 12 of 15 regular season games in the Saskatoon Minor Baseball league this season, the peewee AA North Battleford Beavers continued to roll in the league playoffs, winning all their games en route to the league championship.
Their perfect playoff record, which started with wins over the Blue Jay Prospects, the Cardinals, the Bandit Braves, and Humboldt, was capped off with a 12-6 win over the Saskatoon Royals in the finals on Monday night.
“They’ve worked hard all year for the league,” Beavers assistant coach Justin Kahl said. “We’ve had a really good season and they were pretty ecstatic to win the championship.
“[The final] was a close game right up until the last two innings. It was basically around 4-4 and then we scored a bunch of runs.”
