Man accused of stealing vehicle arrested after setting himself on fire
Warman RCMP made a high risk arrest after investigating a suspect who set himself on fire last weekend.
On Saturday, May 5, Warman RCMP searched for a stolen vehicle reported to be driving erratically on Highway 16. The vehicle travelled at high speeds.
Mounties, along with Saskatoon Police Service Air Support tracked the vehicle and eventually tried to stop it with spike belts. One civilian vehicle unrelated to the investigation was damaged.
The suspect’s vehicle wound up in a farmyard North of Langham where the suspect tried to steal fuel. He then allegedly rammed an RCMP cruiser before fleeing the yard.
