‘Camp Day’ goes a long way in Battlefords
Today is Tim Horton’s Camp Day, an annual event that’s been running for 26 years.
Customers are encouraged to visit their local Tim’s and purchase a hot beverage and Camp Day bracelet, with 100% of the proceeds going to sending less-fortunate kids to summer camps. Marion Michnik, who owns Tim Horton’s locations in North Battleford and Battleford along with her husband Brett, said she is extremely involved in the event and loves when Camp Day rolls around each and every year.
“All that money goes towards the Tim Horton’s Children Foundation, then we select children in our region that can go to camp,” Michnik said. “We’ve paired up with the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club and we select the campers and they go off for one week. After that, they do a follow-up with us and let us know how it goes. It’s just such a great opportunity for them.”
Michnik said the chance to attend a summer camp often makes a big impression on the kids.
