Battleford Central School will offer an audience a trip to Wonderland in a theatrical production at the Dekker Centre later this month.

The production is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s novel Through the Looking Glass and will feature Alice on a large chessboard travelling on a journey to become a queen. Other characters such as Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledee and Tweedledum will also be making an appearance.

The cast consists of nearly 20 students ranging from Grade 1 through 6 who will perform a variety of musical numbers.

“[The audience] can expect a very lively musical,” Barry Ursaki, co-director of Through the Looking Glass, said. “We have a Michael Jackson-esque number that’s very funky…[and] Humpty Dumpty has decided to become a country star, so we have a lot of line dancing and other things…we also have a little gospel number to go along with it as well.”
