UPDATE: Suspect in Green Lake incident turned himself in to police

UPDATE: On Tuesday, Aug. 9, Corey O’Neil Bouvier turned himself in to the Green Lake RCMP. He has been remanded until his court date, Thursday, Aug. 11 in Meadow Lake.

 

 

RCMP released more information on an incident involving firearms in Green Lake over the weekend.

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6 members of the Green Lake and Meadow Lake RCMP detachment responded to a call of a firearm being discharged within the village. Two males were arrested, while one remains at large.

Initial investigations revealed three individuals related to the complaint were possibly inside a residence on the 100th block of Mill Ave. in Green Lake. There was potential the individuals had access to firearms and as a precaution, the RCMP Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services were called to assist. In addition, Highway 55 was blocked and four nearby residences in Green Lake were evacuated for safety reasons during the incident.

The first arrest was made at 10:45 a.m. where an adult male was taken into custody without incident.

After police monitored the home on Mill Ave. for several hours, two males exited the residence, at 1 p.m. One will not face charges in relation to the incident.

Twenty-year-old Austin Lafond and 22-year-old Aaron Roy of Green Lake face multiple charges including careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, and assault with a weapon.

The two men appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court yesterday, Aug. 8.

Corey O’Neil Bouvier, 27, from Green Lake faces similar charges and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

He is described as 5’9”, of First Nation descent, slim build, weighing approximately 160 lbs., with brown eyes and dark, short hair. He has a scar on his neck and his voice may sound hoarse.

Bouvier is believed to be armed and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on Bouvier’s location or the incident is asked to contact local RCMP immediately.
