Radiothon for ENT just hours away

May 11, 2017 | 5:17 PM

The second annual On the Air for Health Care Radiothon is just hours away and everyone at the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) is beyond excited for this year’s event.

Beginning at 6 a.m. CJNB, Q98 and the Rock 93.3 will broadcast live for 12 hours from the BUH main lobby. The Radiothon will embark on raising $380,000 to replace aging equipment in the Ears Nose and Throat department.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said CJNB morning host Grant Schutte. “Last year the community blew us away with its generosity and we know we will reach this year’s goal.”

The inaugural Radiothon raised almost $500,000 for a new CT scanner.

“The money we raise this year will help replace some of the equipment in the ENT department that has been there since the 1970’s,” said Ryan Rathwell from 93.3 THE ROCK. “That’s almost as old as some of Grant’s (Schutte) ties.”

During the 12-hour live broadcast, groups, businesses and individuals are encouraged to visit the main lobby of the BUH office and present their donations which will be aired live.

Updates will be provided throughout the day on battlefordsNOW.com.
