The Battlefords Community Players have a fantastic upcoming season waiting for you to enjoy.

2 Across: A  Romantic Comedy & The DragonFly of Chicoutimi – Drama

October 20, 21, 22 – Dinner Theatre with Preview – October 18 – Show Only there will be two One Act Plays:

2 Across – A Romantic Comedy: Two strangers, a man and a woman board a San Francisco BART train at 4:30 AM. They’re alone in the car, each is married, both are doing the New York Times crossword. She’s an organized, sensible, psychologist. He’s a free spirited, unemployed ad exec. She is a crossword pro, he always quits. When he tosses his puzzle away, she snaps, “Crosswords are a metaphor for life, those who finish, succeed, those who don’t, fail.”

The DragonFly of Cicoutimi: Gaston Talbot, a Francophone from Chicoutimi, wakes up one day to find he has turned into an Anglophone. “I travel a lot,” announces the dragonfly just before he takes flight. A childhood trauma left him unable to speak – until a bizarre dream released him from his long silence, and he is now on stage, introducing himself, describing his dream and sharing his life story.

Leading Ladies – A farce

On November 24, 25, 26 – Dinner Theatre with preview – November 22 – Show Only:

Set in York, Pennsylvania in 1958, this farce centers on two down-on-their-luck Shakespearean actors, Leo Clark and Jack Gable. The pair discover through a newspaper that Florence, an older ailing woman, has been unable to find Max and Steve, her sister’s children who moved away to England as children in order to include them in her multi-million dollar inheritance.

Of the Fields Lately – a Drama

April 6, 7, 8 – 2017 – Dinner Theatre with preview – April 4 – Show Only:

A son returns after an absence of two years to find both his mother and family friend Wiff trying to sustain his father, Jacob. A heart attack has forced Jacob out of work, and he can’t reconcile himself to his frightening situation. The characters all discover something about themselves under this pressure of imminent death.
