Advance polls a big success in N.B.
According to Debbie Wohlberg, city clerk, the advance polls were a big success and will not delay ballot counting the night of the election.
North Battleford ran three advance polls on Oct. 15, 19 and 22. Wohlberg said two teams were hired to count the ballots this year, which she noted was a pivotal decision.
Over 400 people showed up to vote for in the city’s advance polls last week, over double the turnout four years ago.
“If I only had one [team] they’d have so many ballots to count on election night, the results of the election would be delayed,” Wohlberg said. “This way it will balance out all the results so hopefully they’ll all come in at the same time. We will definitely use two teams going forward.”
