Saskatchewan is not for sale.
That was the message from several provincial unions, weekly bus riders and average citizens regarding the Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) shutdown set for May 31, 2017.
“They have the greatest impact on low-income families, and it’s not fair,” said protestor Carrie Klassen.
People chanted, “Take our Wall please,” and “Stop the transportation cuts” outside the STC depot in downtown Saskatoon around noon Friday.
The rally followed a protest by hundreds of union workers in front of the cabinet office on 22nd street. They took aim at the multiple public sector cuts announced by the Sask. government in its 2017-18 budget on March 22.
