Mar 12, 2017 | 11:11 AM

Community members in the town of Wilkie are getting out to vote in the Kraft Hockeyville competition today, March 13.

Voting began yesterday at 7 a.m. and organizer Cathy Heiman said many people showed up at the various voting locations to show their support.

Wilkie and Ituna are the final towns in Saskatchewan competing for a top spot in Hockeyville.

The grand prize winning community will earn $100,000 in arena upgrades and will host an NHL pre-season game next fall.

In finishing in the top 10, Wilkie has already won $25,000 which will go to upgrades to the SaskCan Community Centre which was devastated by a fire in 2015.

Voting continues until 9:59 p.m. tonight. The Mclurg High School will be open from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. today for voting while Wilkie Town Hall will also be open for public voting today until 4 p.m. Voting is also available online.
