McKendree University the right fit for Peterson
When AAA Sharks forward Dakota Peterson was eight years old, she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up.
And while many of us have outlandish aspirations when we are this young, Peterson will now follow through on her childhood dream by studying to be a vet at McKendree University in Illinois, a private college established in 1828.
Not only that, but she will also get to continue her hockey career at the oldest college in the State.
“It felt really great [to commit], just knowing that I get to continue my hockey career while studying something that I really want to do,” Peterson said before Tuesday night’s practice at Battleford Arena. “Their hockey program is really new. So I’ll be able to make my own mark and set my own records. So I’m just kind of excited for that, too.”
