Over $50,000 provided to Battlefords in charitable gaming grants
Charitable gaming in the Battlefords area has paid off for several organizations.
Organizations in the Battlefords and surrounding area are receiving more than $55,000 in charitable gaming grants from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).
As a province, the grants total over $1.3 million, with $57,755 of that going to North Battleford and area charities, which includes North Battleford, Battleford and 13 smaller surrounding communities. Those communities are: Biggar, Cando, Cochin, Glaslyn, Hafford, Langham, Livelong, Mayfair, Maymont, Medstead, Meota, Rabbit Lake, and Unity.
These grants are for the second quarter of the fiscal year, from July 1, 2016 to Sept. 30, 2016, and are being given to more than 700 organizations province wide.
