Winter Activities at PA National Park

Dec 21, 2016 | 8:14 AM

As we approach the end of 2016, we at Prince Albert National Park send our warmest regards for a safe and happy holiday season! We’d also like to thank you for helping increase awareness of park activities and events throughout the year; we look forward to continuing to work together in 2017!

Winter updates are listed below; we are waiting on more snow before ski trails can be groomed, but there is still plenty to do! Feel free to share information and attachments with friends, colleagues, and customers or post on social media channels.

FREE ENTRY to Prince Albert National Park in 2017! In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation, entrance to all places managed by Parks Canada will be free throughout 2017. Pick up your free pass anytime in 2017 by visiting the Visitor Centre in Waskesiu or ordering online at pc.gc./ca/PrinceAlbert. Why not take advantage of this free pass and explore the park this winter, we have great activities to enjoy year-round!

Experience a magical winter getaway. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city; connect with friends and family in nature this winter. Start off at the Visitor Centre where a friendly attendant can answer questions, suggest a daily itinerary, and report on the most up to date trail conditions. While there, check out interactive wildlife displays, animal costumes, and pick up a winter birding or geocache kit to use as you explore the park.

For the remainder of the day, choose your adventure; play Disk Golf, borrow snowshoes or skis at the Hawood, enjoy the indoor rink, warm up in an enclosed camp kitchen, gaze into a sky full of stars, arrange a snowball fight, or seek out wildlife including elk, deer, and otters.
